I've heard a lot about how people are dissatisfied with our current city council and how they're not happy with "things" around Elk Grove. But yet, despite repeated requests for people to send me their ideas or views or gripes or whatever, I've yet to receive even one response from anyone. I have no idea what anyone would like to see happen in our government.
So here I am with a major agenda item of "open communications," and no one to communicate with.
Let's try this:
Is there anyone in town who believes short-term planning for economic stability is necessary before long term plans can be effected?
Is there anyone in town who would like to see something of substance from candidates, rather than long-winded, vacuous platitudes about "how much I like Elk Grove" and "what a great town we have" and "how long I've lived here" and "how I love this community" and "my family. . .(fill in blank)?"
Is there anyone in town who thinks helping our current businesses stay in operation should be a priority item?
Does anyone else believe as I do, that getting elected to our city council should not require obscene sums ranging up to $150-200k?
Is there anyone out there who cares enough about integrity to insure our incumbents don't get re-elected?
